Christian Marriage: The Husband Side of Things

Greetings, dear reader!
I plan to change this blog to a marriage-focused blog over the next month.
This means I will start to document my journey towards being a godly, loving head of my wife and elaborate on the experiences I've acquired.

The first thing I'm going to add here, is a link to another blog:

Righteousness

Again, I wish to address an issue that is probably never going to go away until this age comes to a close: the issue of living in holiness.

I've been discussing these issues a bit with several people, including my wife. I've also read several articles about this issue, and made some findings.

Finding 1. ) People who defend a sinful lifestyle say its impossible to be holy.
-The problem with this view is, that it assumes we need to be holy in our selves - we don't! We are sanctified by God in His Son Jesus Messiah! To acknowledge sin as sin allows us to live in the new nature.

Finding 2. ) Naiveness: doing a small sin will not cause more sin and a line can be drawn without danger.
-I've never seen anyone do this successfully. Always, when a person has started to view for example promiscuity as acceptable, he/she has also eventually done it OR repented. You cannot hold fire in your bosom and not be burnt.
-Also, the trouble with this view is that it assumes sin doesn't have consequences: the bible is clear on this and says that the fruit of sin is death.

Heb 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord

Anxiety

I'm a believer in Jesus Messiah of Nazareth, the Son of the Most High God.
In common terms, I'm a christian man, although I don't really know what the word means as so many "christians" (members of christian churches) are not believers...

Anyhoo, I've been plenty anxious lately because of the immorality and general views on sex and sexuality in the media.
Its not that I really care what other people do - I don't need to judge anyone - but the problem is that it touches me very quickly.
Infidelity, divorce, remarriage, etc. cause me to cry "isn't anything sacred anymore?!"

Homosexuality, pornography and the continuous advertising of those phenomena as normal and good, cause me to cry "why does everybody have to accept someone else's perversions of what has SO FAR been normal??!"

And now, with the debate heating up and all kinds of lusts running wild, why isn't anyone noticing that there is no end to this?! Relaxing the rules and allowing "just one more thing" is NEVER going to fix the emptiness inside people. Instead, it will just make the world more and more insecure and hard, as those satisfying their wicked desires will exploit everybody else.

The rejected spouse is the victim of divorce.
The confused teen is the victim of today's heated debate about homosexuality's "normality"
The whole society is the victim of a mentality of selfish lust and hedonism. The individual: child, teen, adult, father, mother are all under threat from a general view that "its just normal, live with it"

If Jesus reigned in this world, it would be so different.

In search of she-geeks

Again! Here we go again. Another round of problematizing the choices women make about their careers: A Wired .com article "In search of she-geeks" (wired.com)

Again, the story begins with
1) girls can be into tech
2) girls are in tech
The next obvious question is, why is that important, and whats the news?
Well, the news is, ofcourse, that for some reason we aren't seeing AS many girls in tech as some would like.
Although girls can make up their own mind about such things (and that's a very strongly stressed point related to how smart and independent girls are), its actually better if they are just told what to do: "become a compute scientist, dear, you may not understand why (because you're just a girl), but its good for you"
If that doesn't downplay the intellectual capacity of women, what does? Well, feminism never was for the woman, it was always against a woman.
